The Morning With Friends @ Battledore Group or MWF for short went back on the Victor mat court of Battledore & Shuttlecock Badminton Hall on July 16, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for an exciting tournament among its members. Fifty (50) players composed of ladies and men played the doubles games and exchanged drives, smashes and drops using the ever-reliable potency of the ProBird feather shuttlecocks.

Of the five teams who set the mat court blazing with energy, team 4 led by Bengee Garrido won the most-coveted MWF Medal of the Champions. This team is comprised of: Bengee Garrido, Rey Manuel, Rowell Fernando, Onel Parado, Roy Sano, Michelle Tirona, Leny Ramos, Penny Laquindanum, Dra. Edith Anacan and Vicky Lee.

Those who played equally well but were not lucky enough to make it to the top score were: Team 1: led by Roman Genilza, members were: Rey Manguerra, Adonis Tirona, Ace Sagun, Rose Tan, Irma Garrido, Libay Fernando, Che Hollero and Monette Dizon; Team 2 led by Jojo Vargas, members were: Cenen de Guzman, Fred Fernando, Nilo del Rosario, Jojo Naguit, Avic Yatco, Gemma Pagarigan, Gina Genilza, Mymy Naguit and Ella Braganza; Team 3 led by Peeks Veruasa, members were: Jagay Yatco, Alvin Pagarigan, EJ Estillore, Rober, Joy Vargas, Vicky Manuel, Shella Miranda and Beng Abary; Team 5 led by Bong Flores, members were: Ronald Bautista, Tony Lomibao, Winnie Salonga, Dong Vergeire, Lizet dela Pena, Wendy, Aylie Cu, Nida Caleon and Rhodora Bohol.

Another exciting battle of the racquets for August is now on its planning stage. Members of the MWF @ Battledore who were not able to join the July matches are now preparing to steal the MWF Medal of the Champions from Team 4.

The Morning with Friends @ Battledore is a regular group composed of ladies and men of all ages who meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Battledore and Shuttlecock Badminton Court on 77 Scouter Ojeda Street, Bgy. Obrero, Quezon City.
