Here’s an opportunity for all badminton addicts to share the sport to others who have started to love badminton with passion.
Natalia Jambaro of the Naga Badminton Club of Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay wrote us about their project of collecting badminton paraphernalia like racquets and shuttlecocks for grade school and high school students and also for the out-of-school youths in their area (see picture). At present, these badminton enthusiasts share only 6 racquets among themselves and in order to prolong the game are using plastic shuttlecocks. Zamboanga Sibugay was formerly part of Zamboanga del Sur and is now a new province.
They are appealing for used or discarded racquets from our readers in order to have enough for their players. New racquets will be most welcome too. This coming April 27, 2007, they are hosting a tournament with the hope of generating funds in order to purchase badminton equipments for their members.
Please coordinate with Natalia Jambaro of Naga Badminton Club, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay at 0917-7223535 for your donations. |
