GXS Philippines Inc. a multi-national software development company held its 1st Badminton Tournament last March 11, 2006 at the Ultimate Impact Sports Center in Yakal Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City. Sixty (60) players from six (6) teams joined the tournament, with each team comprising of four (4) categories Mens, Womens, Mixed and Newbies doubles plus two reserves for each team. Players from Blue Team (MAP DEV), Yellow Team (QA and TechWriter), Red Team ( ECSC), Orange Team (SE and CASC), White Team (TechImple, EFS, CS and TELESALES) and Green Team (IT, Finance, HR, Admin and SCD) trooped to the courts as early as 9:00am to have a warm up exercises.

The games were very well played in all categories. In spite of the intense competition throughout the day, it was evident that all teams had fun and respected each other's badminton skills. This could be seen in the player's smiles, handshakes, and words of appreciation for the well spent and games well played.

Overall, the Yellow Team topped the Team Championship with 44 points just a small margin against the 1st runner-up White Team of 42 points while the 2nd runner-up Red Team finished 28 points.
